Climate change is a significant threat to Bangladesh. Our small and marginal farmers are on the front lines of climate change. BIPU Greens is working with marginal farmers to strengthen climate resilience through infrastructure and climate-smart agriculture. Our other thematic areas include innovation, improved nutrition, and natural resource management and low carbon technologies. Agriculture is one of the components of livelihood and is an essential part of people's daily life. Daily fresh fruits and vegetables are very important for good health. BIPU Greens is working with rural farmers to deliver their produce directly to the consumer. BIPU Greens' reason for doing this is to create more opportunities for small and marginal farmers. Reliable market management increases productivity, increases income and strengthens food security. BIPU Greens has been producing and marketing essential agricultural products with marginal farmers for the last three years. Many rural producers often face serious problems in accessing markets to sell their products. Due to their remote location, high transportation costs, limited knowledge and lack of business skills, they cannot communicate and negotiate on equal terms with other intermediaries in their markets. This initiative of BIPU Greens has motivated the marginal farmers a lot. It encourages them to invest in their own businesses and increase the quantity, quality and variety of products produced.
